Art Now Fine Art Fair, now in its 4th year of operation, will be taking place in Regina from September 19th to 22nd. Featuring 13 galleries along with more than 200 emerging and established artists, Art Now is Saskatchewan’s only fair dedicated contemporary art. Founded and organized by SaskGalleries, the inaugural fair took place in Saskatoon in 2016 with attendance and reception to the event garnering far higher numbers than projected. Through this success, the fair has taken the dynamic position of changing locations every year between Saskatoon and Regina. This year the fair will take place at Regina’s The SoundStage (1831 College Avenue), and will also feature three full days of programming including panel discussions and artist talks.
Galleries from across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba will be in attendance to showcase a wide range of prairie artists and their work. BlackFlash will be present throughout the fair, covering artists and exhibitors, and providing subscriptions on both Friday and Saturday of the event. A few of our most anticipated exhibitors are The Gallery / art placement inc., Slate Fine Art Gallery, and Mayberry Fine Art. Programming highlights include Looking at Art: Overcoming the Enigma with Kimberley Fyfe, Carol Wylie, and Nicolle Nugent, and Indigenous Art in Saskatchewan with Sherry Farrell-Racette, David Garneau, and Wally Dion.
Art Now begins September 19th with an Opening Reception (7-10pm), and continues through the weekend on September 20th (11am-8pm), September 21st (11am-6pm), and September 22nd (11am-6pm).
