Welcome Maxine Proctor!

The board of directors of BlackFlash Magazine is pleased to welcome Maxine Proctor as incoming Managing Editor.

A former resident of Saskatoon, Maxine completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan prior to pursuing a Master of Arts, Art History and Curatorial Studies at York University in Toronto. Maxine maintains strong ties to our region while providing an understanding of national and international developments in contemporary art and art publishing.

Maxine has served as a board member and a contributor to BlackFlash Magazine. She brings an excellent knowledge of our organizational structure, mandate and editorial direction. As director and co-founder of the Toronto Art Book Fair, Maxine deeply values printed matter and understands the unique challenges and opportunities for print publishing. She has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to creating meaningful connections between audiences and contemporary art through her curatorial projects, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.

We are confident that Maxine will maintain BlackFlash Magazine’s high editorial standard while strengthening existing partnerships and nurturing new relationships to increase the effectiveness of our publishing activities. Maxine will commence April 16, 2018.
