Please join BlackFlash Magazine and Magnetic Domain at 424 20th Street West in Saskatoon, below the AKA Artist-Run and PAVED Arts catwalk for another evening of outdoor experimental sound. This year we are presenting the second iteration of this performance series. For Nuit Blanche 2014 BlackFlash and Magnetic Domain selected a series of performers to present drone pieces that were immersive for the outdoor listener.
As this year’s Nuit Blanche is based on the theme of Interstitial Spaces, our selections will be geared towards the concept of hypnagogic states: the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. All performers will be presenting textural experimental sound pieces that will take this theme as a starting point.
Performances will begin at 9:15pm and continue until just after 11.

VC Vibes is a moniker Jon Vaughn has been using for performing and producing electronic music and DJing since the year 2000. The project manifests a style which combines the sensibilities of both experimental and dance music, also practiced in his DJ sets which often span both large periods of time and genres. Since his release on the Panospria label “Heathers” – he has been preparing EPs and full length cassettes for various labels including Magnetic Domain, some of which will be performed live at Nuit Blanche 2015.
Scant Intone is the solo project of Canadian artist Constantine Katsiris dedicated to experiments in modern audio. The output varies from stark minimalist tones to densely complex textures with a sound palette that incorporates elements of field recordings, shortwave radio, hand-drawn waveforms, raw data, and digital sound synthesis.
Longtime electronic musician, Will Kaufhold, creates soundscapes using analog synthesizers and sequencers. His extemporized performance will contrast dream-like drone with aleatoric voltage, DIY circuits, and sub frequencies. http://
Ernie Dulanowsky is an electronic music performer from Regina, SK. Ernie uses a hardware-based workflow, with both homemade and commercial electronics to create ambient drone and noise pieces. Some of his compositions can be found at https://soundcloud.com/
